Jean Desnos Cabinet Argentier Mahogany 1940-1945

JEAN DESNOS French decorator born in 1910 After graduating from the Boulle school in 1927, he worked in collaboration with Etienne KOHLMANN for the Studium des Magasins du Louvre. He would later become artistic director of RAMBAUDI DANTOINE establishments in Lyon from 1937 to 1950.

Rare Cabinet Argentier by Jean Desnos made by Maison Rambaudi Dantoine in wavy mahogany wire veneer and diamond marquetry on the doors with its magnificent gilt bronze trim decorated with 2 Peacocks, its original key, sycamore interior composed of shelves and 2 drawers with storage for silverware in brown suede. The 4 saber feet with gilt bronze hoof endings. Magnificent neo-classical gilt bronze trim decorated with palms on the bottom rail.

Period 1940-1945

Excellent restored varnished condition.
